Opens July 20How it works
The idea

A single photograph can tell a beautiful story

Point your lens at the Moon  any device, any night  and share the unique story it evokes.

Fiction or non-fiction  what matters is that both the photograph and the words are yours. Observe the Moon through your own lens, and tell us your side of the story.

The process

How it works

01

Shoot

Capture an original photograph of the Moon using whatever setup you have, whether that is a phone steadied against a railing, a DSLR on a tripod, or a dedicated telescope rig.

02

Write

Pair your image with a story it stirs up. It can be a memory, a feeling you cannot quite name, a fiction you imagined, or a factual story. A few honest paragraphs are all it takes.

03

Submit

Send your photograph and story together through the official form before August 19. One entry per participant, so make sure it is the one you are most proud of.

Ground rules
  1. 01The photograph must be clicked by you — one original photo of the Moon, taken on any device.
  2. 02AI-generated images, edited digital artwork, or images taken from the internet or any other source will not be accepted.
  3. 03The story can be fiction or non-fiction, and must be your own writing — your thoughts, emotions, memories, or imagination.
  4. 04Submit the photograph and story together through the official submission form.
  5. 05Results will be announced on 20 August 2026 during the National Space Day celebrations at UPES. The top three winners will be awarded Amazon vouchers worth ₹1,000, ₹800, and ₹600 respectively.
